On the Farm

On the Farm – 9″ x 12″ Watercolor on 140lb acid free paper

This composition proved to be very interesting. A windmill the farm in the distance, another windmill, a natural spring, tire tracks cutting through the field, and a barbed wire fence in the foreground. More features than I’m used to, but I had to give this one a try. Challenging myself has proved to be very rewarding with this painting. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did in creating it.

Yosemite Morning Mist

Yosemite Morning Mist – 9″ x 12″ Watercolor on 140lb acid free paper

The inspiration for this painting was to do a study of fog. This follows Early Morning on the River, and Early Retirement in capturing fog. This time I didn’t isolate myself to a single color, and the fog is still apparent.

Fence Line

Fence Line – 6″ x 9″ Watercolor on 90lb acid free paper

Here is a favorite. This painting had several challenges associated with the tree in the background. and the bluring of the branches.

The following is a poem written for this painting by a dear friend. She writes:

Standing in the past,
Alongside a life of old,
Crumbling into rust and splinters.
Searching the horizon,
Waiting for something better.
